Family History

We are pleased to be able to offer some of the results of our research into the families of Dunnington and Grimston. Our records take us back to the 16th century, and though we are still working on our research, we feel we should share our findings with you.

Today there are people living in Dunnington who are descended from Dunnington villagers of the 18th century. The occupation of many of these ancestors is interesting. They were not only farmers and farm labourers, but tailors, dressmakers, shopkeepers, manufacturers and many more occupations which contribute to life in a busy and successful village in the 19th and 20th centuries.

We hope that anyone who had ancestors from Dunnington and Grimston will get in touch with us with their own findings. We will be only too happy to share any information we have.
